65% of students surveyed said they’ve been in a toxic relationship, and 55% say that they didn’t know how to leave it. Sometimes it’s hard to get ourselves into a relationship with a person who destroys and hurts us or get trapped and not knowing how to escape the situation. Here are the symptoms of a toxic relationship with a friend.
Symptoms of a toxic relationship. They act fake towards you, and usually when they’re around other people. They never let you be happy, which makes you feel like you’re the bad guy in every circumstance. They play with your insecurities or create new ones, and try to shape you in what they believe is “better for you”. This can often lead to low-self worth, anxiety, depression, and sometimes it can affect you so much that you want to take your own life.
A healthy relationship is something you should value and hold on to; it’ll have a great influence on you. Some characteristics of a great relationship are nonjudgmental, supportive, and fun to be around. Good friends are supportive of you because they want to see you succeed. A good companion doesn’t judge you by what you do, say, or look like. A real friend is fun to be around because hanging out with someone without being judged 24/7, is more enjoyable.
This isn’t right and you deserve to be with someone that makes you happy. Now how can you escape this relationship, it’s simple… move on. Block them on all social media platforms. Delete videos and photos of them. I know you want to get back at them for what they did to you, but it isn’t worth it. Be the bigger person and move on because you’ll end up being happier. In the end, you’ll be smarter knowing how to notice a bad relationship and how to leave it.
